With the help of The Indiana Plan\, Michigan City residents can now receive guidance on the necessary steps to kickstart a successful career.\n\n\nMichigan City will be hosting an Informational Open House meeting in the EOC room (Lower Level City Hall) on May 12th at 5pm.\n\n\n\nThe Indiana Plan works directly with unions & contractors to meet the demand for skilled labor.\n\n\n\nParticipating union building trades generally share the following requirements:\nMust be 18 years old.\nHigh school diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (formerly GED).\nValid Indiana driver’s license.\nAbility to pass drug screening.\n9th-grade math and reading levels based on test of adult basic education (TABE).\nApplicants with felonies are welcome.\n\n\n\nCity Hall is located at 100 E Michigan Blvd. Michigan City\, IN.\n\nIf you have questions regarding the meeting\, contact Kila Ward at (219) 873-1400 ext. 2018
