For the latest information\, follow Michigan City Special Events on Facebook \nFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  \nMICHIGAN CITY\, IN\, April 2\, 2026 – Michigan City Special Events is making an adjustment to Saturday’s Easter Egg Hunt\, due to forecasted inclement weather. The Easter Egg Hunt is now a “Drive-Thru” event\, Saturday\, April 4 in Washington Park. “The forecast for Saturday looks bad\, so we made the change so that the kids still enjoy the treats\,” said Special Events Director Terry Greetham. “We will miss seeing 20\,000 eggs disappear in a matter of minutes\, but at least the children will still get something from the Easter Bunny.” Cars will enter Washington Park at the main entrance and be routed to the Senior Center. Cars will receive one Easter bag per child in the car. Bags will only be given to children present in the vehicle. Cars can arrive and line up at 11:30 am\, and the drive-thru will start at 12:00 pm. The line will be cut off when supplies begin to run out. DESCRIPTION:One of Michigan City’s most beloved late-summer traditions returns Labor Day Weekend\, September 4–7th\, 2026\, at Washington Park. Oktoberfest is the City’s most requested annual event\, bringing together residents and visitors for four days of great food\, live music\, and community celebration. \nThe festival features multiple live music acts with dozens of performances\, along with local and regional food & beverage vendors and a wide variety of art\, craft\, and merchandise vendors from across the region. Stroll down Franklin Street through the Uptown Arts District during the festive parade\, then experience the dazzling and vast light displays in Washington Park\, where thousands of custom-designed twinkling lights create a magical atmosphere for families and friends. \nThe Festival of Lights features a variety of holiday activities\, including visits from Santa Claus\, live musical performances\, local food vendors\, and plenty of opportunities to capture memorable photos. The City’s official Christmas Tree serves as a centerpiece for the festivities\, surrounded by seasonal treats like hot chocolate and festive snacks. \nHosted by Michigan City Special Events in partnership with the Parks & Recreation Department\, the Festival of Lights offers an enchanting holiday experience at no cost! \nParade occurs: Dec. 5th\, 2026 at 5pm
