How We Serve

Appointments. The commission shall be composed of five members. The appointments shall be made as follows:

Three members shall be appointed by the mayor, and mayoral appointments shall be for a fixed term of four years; one of these appointments shall initially be for only two years, renewable for four more years upon reappointment by the mayor; at least one of these shall be a representative of a veteran support group, and at least one of these shall be a representative from higher education;

Two members shall be appointed by the common council, and the common council appointments shall be for a fixed term of four years; one of these appointments shall initially be for only two years, renewable for four more years upon reappointment by the common council; at least one of these shall be a representative of an organization dealing with veterans’ issues, including PTSD;

Meetings: 2:00 PM on the second Friday of the month at City Hall.
