The City of Michigan City invites local organizations to apply for the Restoring Communities Grant, funded through the Opioid Restricted Fund. These grants support prevention-focused initiatives that address the opioid crisis and strengthen our community.

Grant Details

  • Award range: $5,000–$25,000

  • Deadline: October 15, 2025

  • Who can apply: Local organizations (including nonprofits, faith-based groups, neighborhood organizations, and community partners)

What We’re Looking For

Projects should align with prevention strategies in Indiana’s opioid settlement plan, such as:

  • Community and youth education or mentoring

  • Faith-based or neighborhood prevention initiatives

  • Support for at-risk populations

  • Grief and family support programs

  • Overdose reversal training and awareness

How to Apply

  1. Complete the application form and prepare a full proposal (up to 6 pages) describing your project, timeline, who you will serve, and expected outcomes.

  2. Attach a detailed, line-item budget (minimum 1 page). Include any matching funds or in-kind contributions if available.

  3. Email everything by October 15, 2025 to the Mayor’s Office at mayorsoffice@emichigancity.com with the subject line “Restoring Communities Grant Application.”
